Bob Laliberte is an internationally recognized technology industry analyst, advisor, speaker, and content creator focused on the technologies transforming enterprise IT.
With more than 35 years of experience across industry research, product management, marketing, and sales, Bob brings a practical perspective to emerging and existing technologies, connecting technical innovation to the business, operational, and strategic outcomes that matter.
His research focuses on all aspects of enterprise and AI networking, AI infrastructure, observability and AI operations, customer experience and contact centers, and network security.
Technology changes quickly. Understanding which changes actually matter is considerably harder.
Throughout my career, I have worked across multiple sides of the technology industry, from product management, marketing, and sales to research, media, advisory services, and executive engagement. That experience shapes how I approach research today.
I founded Liberte Research Group with a straightforward objective: provide independent, practical research that helps technology providers and enterprise leaders better understand rapidly changing markets and make more informed decisions.
My approach goes beyond evaluating individual products or announcements. I look at the broader market forces driving change, the challenges enterprise organizations are trying to solve, and the business and operational outcomes technology needs to deliver.
That means asking questions such as: What changed? Why does it matter? What does it mean for enterprise organizations? And, perhaps most importantly, what comes next?
Over a career spanning more than three and a half decades, Bob has held senior roles across industry research, product management, marketing, and sales for technology and software organizations operating in the United States and internationally.
Before founding Liberte Research Group, Bob served as Principal Analyst at theCUBE Research, where his work examined existing and emerging network technologies and the increasingly important relationship between networking, cloud, security, observability, automation, and artificial intelligence.
Previously, Bob spent more than a decade at Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG)(acquired by TechTarget), where he led and contributed to research examining networking, network management, cloud connectivity, observability, and related infrastructure technologies. Industry roles include VP of Marketing and Product Management (Empirix, acquired by infovista), Product Marketing, Product Management and Sales roles in several organizations including CentrePath, GiantLoop, Rigaku, and HNU Systems.
This combination of industry and analyst experience provides Bob with a broad perspective spanning technology development, go-to-market strategy, enterprise requirements, competitive dynamics, and real-world adoption.
Great research requires more than following technology announcements.
Bob's perspective is informed by ongoing conversations across the technology ecosystem, including:
Enterprise IT leaders and practitioners
Technology executives and product teams
Cloud and service providers
Channel and ecosystem partners
Investors and financial analysts
Startups and established technology leaders
Industry events and executive forums
These conversations provide different, and sometimes conflicting, perspectives on where markets are headed.
LRG combines those perspectives with primary research, technology briefings, financial analysis, customer discussions, and direct industry experience to identify the developments that are most likely to have meaningful business and technology impact.
The goal isn't simply to predict what's next. It's to help organizations understand what they should do about it.
I created Liberte Research Group around a belief that independent research should do more than describe what has already happened.
The most valuable analysis connects technology innovation, customer requirements, market dynamics, and business outcomes to help organizations understand where markets are going.
LRG is designed to combine the rigor of traditional industry research with the accessibility, speed, and reach of modern digital media.
That means producing research that is independent and evidence-based, but also timely, understandable, and useful to the executives and practitioners making technology decisions every day.
Independent Insight. Strategic Impact.
Whether you're evaluating an emerging technology, developing a market strategy, preparing for an important industry event, or simply want an independent perspective on where enterprise technology is headed, I'd welcome the conversation.
